Albert Victor Young (1899-1956) was an American composer, arranger, violinist, and conductor. Born in Chicago to a musical Jewish family, he studied at Warsaw Imperial Conservatory and became a concert violinist in Poland. Returning to the U.S., Young became a significant figure in Hollywood, providing music for films and backing for popular singers like Bing Crosby. His credits include classics like 'When I Fall in Love' and 'Stella by Starlight.' Young was prolific in radio and films, amassing 22 Academy Award nominations and winning a posthumous Oscar for 'Around the World in Eighty Days.' He also won a Primetime Emmy Award for his TV scoring.
