Alan Menken

Alan Irwin Menken, born July 12, 1949, is an acclaimed American composer, pianist, and record producer renowned for his film scores for Disney animations such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Pocahontas, each winning him two Academy Awards. His other notable works include Little Shop of Horrors, Newsies, and Tangled, among others. Menken has earned multiple accolades including eight Academy Awards, a Tony, eleven Grammys, seven Golden Globes, and a Daytime Emmy. He is one of the few to achieve the prestigious EGOT status.
