Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf

Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf is a German composer, editor, and author. Born in Mannheim, he studied with notable figures such as Brian Ferneyhough and at the Freiburg Music Academy. He also studied musicology, philosophy, and sociology at university, earning a doctorate in philosophy for his work on Arnold Schönberg. An award-winning composer, Mahnkopf's works have been performed internationally. He founded the Gesellschaft für Musik und Ästhetik and has been involved in teaching and publishing. Since 2005, he has taught composition in Leipzig.
