More about Franz Schubert
Franz Schubert was an Austrian composer of the late Classical and early Romantic eras. Born in the Himmelpfortgrund suburb of Vienna, he exhibited extraordinary musical talent from a young age. Schubert excelled in music education, notably studying with Antonio Salieri, and was admitted to the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde. His vast oeuvre includes more than 600 lieder, symphonies, operas, and piano and chamber music, yet appreciation during his lifetime was limited. Schubert's influence increased posthumously, with his works now integral to Western classical music.
