More about Hans Poser
Hans Poser was born in Tannenbergsthal/Vogtland and moved to Hamburg in 1946, where he studied with Ernst Gernot Klussmann. Quickly establishing himself in the academic world, by 1947 he began to teach, and in 1962 he was appointed as a professor. Poser led the Department of Composition and Theory at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg from 1968 for two years. His extensive body of work reveals a strong commitment to youth, with compositions such as 'Kinderspiele', a series of popular children’s songs and playable chamber music, highlighting his dedication. Poser remained committed to tonality, steering away from the atonal legacies of Schoenberg and Webern, which distinguished his compositions for educational purposes.
