Ian Wilson

Ian Wilson is an Irish composer born on 26 December 1964 in Belfast. He studied violin and piano and obtained a DPhil in composition from the University of Ulster at Jordanstown in 1990. Wilson has been a composer-in-residence with Leitrim County Council and the music director of the Sligo New Music Festival. His music has been performed internationally and he has been a research fellow at Dundalk Institute of Technology since 2009, focusing on Irish traditional music as a basis for new art music.
