Mark Potter

Mark Potter, primarily known as a guitarist, met Guy Garvey in 1990 at Stand College in Whitefield, Greater Manchester. Potter invited Garvey to join his band, which included drummer Richard Jupp and bassist Pete Turner, forming the group Mr. Soft (later shortened to 'Soft'). Potter's brother Craig joined on keyboards. Their first gig was in 1990 at the Corner Pin pub in Ramsbottom.
