Michael Head

Michael Dewar Head was a British composer, pianist, organist, and singer known for his enduring works still popular today. Born in Eastbourne, England, his musical training was strongly influenced by his mother, an accomplished amateur singer and pianist. He started his musical education at the age of 10 and later attended Monkton Combe School in Somerset. His association with the Royal Academy of Music was a significant part of his career where he also served as Pianoforte Professor until his retirement in 1975.
