More about Patrick Hawes
Patrick Hawes, born in 1958 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, is a renowned British composer, conductor, organist and pianist. He embarked on his musical journey as an organ scholar at St Chad's College, University of Durham. His career as a music and English teacher led to his tenure as Composer in Residence at Charterhouse School. Dedicating himself fully to composition in 1997, Hawes has since produced critically acclaimed choral and orchestral pieces, film scores, and an array of albums celebrating the beauty of nature, English literature, and his Christian faith. His works include 'The Incredible Mrs Ritchie' score, 'Blue in Blue', 'The Highgrove Suite', and 'The Great War Symphony'. He was made an Honorary Fellow of University of Durham in 2019 and holds a Fellowship from the Royal College of Organists.
