Pierre Max Dubois was a French composer of classical music, conductor, and music educator, known for his lighter approach and interesting harmonic and melodic textures. He was a student of Darius Milhaud and a proponent of the artistic ideas of Les Six. Born in Graulhet, Dubois studied at the Paris Conservatoire, garnered a Prix de Rome in 1955, and became a respected composer for woodwinds. His notable works include a Quartet for Saxophones and Symphonie-sérénade. He was also a professor at Paris Conservatoire and died in Rocquencourt.
