More about Poul Ruders
Poul Ruders, born on 27 March 1949 in Ringsted, Denmark, is a renowned composer. Trained as an organist, Ruders further developed his craft in orchestration under Karl Aage Rasmussen. His compositions, which date back to the mid-1960s, gradually evolved to find his distinctive style with the chamber concerto 'Four Compositions' in 1980. His music, varying from operas to a vast array of other forms, reflects a juxtaposition of contrasting moods and styles, from exuberance to introspective lyricism. His influence extends to students, including Marc Mellits, and his recognition includes having a minor planet named after him【25†source】.
